FRED HUTCH, Animal Technician, Seattle, WA                                                                          April 2025 – Present

  • Managed daily husbandry and welfare of research animals, guaranteeing compliance with IACUC protocols, facility SOPs, and high standards of animal care. 

  • Supported research teams by performing health assessments, environmental monitoring, and accurate documentation to maintain regulatory readiness and high-quality experimental conditions.

OCEAN MEMORY PROJECT, Co-Leader, International, WA                                     September 2023 – Present

  • Co-led OMP initiatives by organizing in-person and virtual workshops, managing transportation logistics, developing agendas, and producing presentation materials; collaborated with a cohort of 30 interdisciplinary researchers to explore the concept of ocean memory through facilitated discussions and the development of educational media and podcasts.

  • Supported organizational communication and research efforts by editing scientific grants and maintaining coordination across members; amplified First Nations’ voices on resilience and environmental change by inviting storytelling at writing workshops.

UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON, Scientific Diver, Friday Harbor, WA                       July 2024 – July 2025​

  • Conducted SCUBA-based underwater research, collecting over 500 samples of Zostera Marina to analyze flowering rates, ecological health and restoration strategies. 

  • Planned research data collection protocols including transect surveys and sample analysis, to evaluate flowering and future restoration efforts and formulated data analysis by using R (T-test and Regression Analysis).

 

MARE TERRA ONLUS, Field Researcher, Alghero, Italy                                                                       August 2023

  • Conducted field research on behavioral ecology of bottlenose dolphin populations in the Mediterranean, assessing the impact of tourism on marine ecosystems of Alghero. 

  • Monitored and analyzed soundscapes and noise pollution, contributing to long-term ecological data sets by using ArcGIS, MaxEnt, data collected through underwater visual census, monitoring, and data analysis.

FRED HUTCH, Intern, Seattle, WA                                                                                       February 2022 – June 2022​

  • Prepared over 200 samples for electron microscopy analysis over 5 months on yeast samples to investigate kinetochore architecture, enhancing structural biology research.

  • Developed laboratory experience in protein purification, analysis and microscopy techniques. Plus maintenance of laboratory equipment.

  • Collected and analyzed data by compiling data using Igor Software Pro and statistical analysis.

Northwest Dive Adventures, Diver and Retail Associate, Marysville, WA                July 2021 – January 2022​

  • Gained in-depth knowledge of scuba gear, became a certified Rescue Diver, and assisted instructors and dive master's with classes and public events.

  • Organized diving events (Women’s Dives, Discover Scuba Diving, and Dive Against Debris) and ensured gear maintenance.

SPH 496 Public Health Capstone

  • Led an oral history project, documenting Somali community members’ experiences during and after COVID-19. Applied equity-centered public health theories and explored intersectionality within the community’s lived experiences.  

 

SPH 481 Ad Hoc Health Impact Review

  • Designed a meta-analysis of 25 selected scientific articles to create a logic model analyzing the impact of the "Protecting the Children’s Bodies Act" (a bill restricting gender-affirming care).

  • Presented the research with a poster, completing over 3 hours of public speaking.

  • Designed and led the "Hello Future" youth mental health campaign, increasing awareness of protective factors.

  • Developed sponsorship materials and conducted literature reviews, securing partnership and increasing campaign engagement by 70%.​​
